Welcome to the Gains Through Gaming Lab in the Department of Psychology at the North Carolina State University.  The GTG Lab is dedicated to conducting applied research examining the relationship between playing commercially available video games and important psychological constructs.  Specifically, our research is focused on identifying the video games and conditions under which they are played, that provide the greatest benefit to various domains of psychological functioning.

Most of our past research has focused on how video games can improve cognitive functioning. Our past and ongoing studies focus on not only determining if video games can improve cognition, but how they improve cognition.  Though most of our research has focused on cognition we are also interested in other outcomes such as well-being and emotion.

The GTG Lab would like to acknowledge and thank the National Science Foundation and The Ludus Project for their generous support of our research.
